Diwali 2018: Also known as Deepawali it is celebrated nationwide in the autumn season. The main festival night usually coincides with the Hindu lunisolar month of Kartika in the Bikram Sambat calendar.


Diwali
 , the festival of lights , is one of the most celebrated festivals in India and people participate a lot in it. The festival usually falls in October every year and this year it is on November . Also known as Deepawali , the festival is celebrated nationwide in the autumn season. The main festival night usually coincides with the Hindu lunisolar month of Kartika in the Bikram Sambat calendar . According to the Gregorian calendar ' the night of Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November.

A few days before Diwali , people clean their homes and workplaces and on the festival day they decorate their homes with lights and candles. Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on that day as devotees pray to the Goddess of Wealth for materialistic abundance and prosperity. Later families the fireworks offered by the exchange of sweets and gifts among friends and relatives.


Festivals Dhanteras begins with then another day Nark fourteenth day on Diwali , Diwali Pdwa the fourth day is devoted to marriage and all this brother Dooj ends with which is dedicated Sister-brother bond on the fifth day. On the night of Diwali , Jains celebrate the attainment of salvation by Lord Mahavira while Bandi Chhor Diva ' among Sikhs to mark the release of Guru Hargobind Singh from the Mughal emperor .is celebrated. Most Buddhists celebrate Diwali by worshiping Lakshmi .
